Makkhani Murghi
(The King of Curries!)
Ah! One of the house favourites!
Delicious chicken in a rich butter sauce. Hints of
cinnamon, tomato, garlic, cumin and a few other special
touches put this spice pack near the top of the list!
Ingredients
- 2.2lbs chicken cut into pieces
- 4 tbsps Greek style strained yoghurt
- Juice of one fresh lemon
- 1 tbsps cooking oil
- 1 can chopped tomatoes
- 4 oz butter
- 5 fl.oz fresh cream
- 4 tbsps tomato paste

Murghi Spice Pack
Method
Put the chicken into a glass dish
and add all spices, juice of a lemon and 3-4 tbsps of
yogurt. Ideally leave overnight or at least 2-3 hours
in the fridge. More the better!
Put 1 tbsps cooking oil into a pan
over a medium heat. Add all the chicken and marinade,
stirring for about 10 minutes. Then add 1 can of
chopped tomatoes, tomato paste and the butter. Bring to
the boil, lower the heat and cook for 10 minutes
uncovered until sauce thickens.
Add 5fl oz cream and simmer for
another 10mins. When thick and creamy take off heat.
Serve with rice and naan bread. Very
rich, but a real treat!
